Harmony between man and environment is the essence of healthy life and growth. Renewable Energy is being perceived as an alternative source of energy security and energy independence . Renewable Energy technologies provide not only electricity but offer an environmently clean and low noise source of power. Therefore, right from the stage of its project conceptualization, technology selection to operations, care is taken to preserve the natural ecology and minimise environmental impact.

NSL has established Wind Farms to a tune of 60 MW since 2001 in the states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu. It would not be out of place to mention here that NSl was awarded "The Highest Investment made in establishing Wind Farms in individual capacity" during the year 2003 by the Govt of karnataka through the department of energy and the nodal agency for the Renewable Power, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL). And even to this day NSL Ranks among the Top 10 developers of Wind Farms in india. The following are the highlights of the Renewable Power projects.

  »     The Company currently has 72 MW of operating capacity power, 60 MW of Wind Power and 12 MW from Biomass Projects.

  »     The Company is in the process of setting up 200 MW of Wind Power in the state of Karnataka for which allotments are in place.

  »     In pipeline are about 1500 MW of potential sites identified are under various stages of Wind study for setting up Wind Farms, which we propose to implement over the next 5 Years.

  »    The Hydel projects with the capacity of 155 MW located in Himachal Pradesh are under active construction phase. The company is likely to get an additional 60 MW for implementation of Hydel Project at the same location.
